Water authority elections 2023 – candidates’ lists and numbering


The central electoral committee for the election of the members of the general board of the Delfland Water Authority announces the following.
The central electoral committee held a public session on Friday, February 3rd, 2023, at 5:00 PM. In this session, the central electoral committee took a decision pursuant to Article 14 of the Elections Act on:

  • The validity of the lists of candidates submitted
  • The maintenance of the candidates stated on the list
  • The maintenance of the superimposed designation of a political group


Twelve valid lists of candidates have been submitted for the elections scheduled to be held on March 15th, 2023. The numbering based on Articles 12 and 14 of the Electoral Act has been determined as follows by the central electoral committee:

  • List 1 VVD/People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy
  • List 2 Partij van de Arbeid (P.v.d.A.)/Labour Party
  • List 3 Water Natuurlijk/Natural Water
  • List 4 AWP voor water, klimaat en natuur/AWP for water, climate and nature
  • List 5 Partij voor de Dieren/Party for the Animals
  • List 6 CDA/Christian Democratic Appeal
  • List 7 50PLUS
  • List 8 ChristenUnie-SGP/Christian Union-SGP
  • List 9 Belang van Nederland (BVNL)/(Interest of the Netherlands)
  • List 10 BBB/Farmer-Citizen Movement)
  • List 11 JA21/YES21
  • List 12 GOUD (GOLD)


The minutes of the public session of the central electoral committee are available for inspection at the office of the Delfland Water Authority, Phoenixstraat 32 in Delft.

Pursuant to Section 7 of the Elections Act, an interested party and any voter may lodge an appeal against the decision of the central electoral committee (with the exception of list numbering) until February 7th, 2023, with the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State, PO Box 20019, 2500 EA, The Hague.
